Cutie Honey (キューティーハニー Kyūtī Hanī) (also referred to as Cutie Honey '73) is a TV anime adaptation by Toei Animation of Go Nagai's Cutie Honey which ran for 25 episodes of October 13 1973, to March 30th 1974.
The show was produced by Toei Animation and broadcast by NET (now known as TV Asahi). The lead director of the series was Tomoharu Katsumata and the lead writer was Masaki Tsuji, who also scripted episodes of Nagai's earlier Devilman TV series and also wrote scenarios for anime and live-action TV series as diverse as Mahoutsukai Sally, Urusei Yatsura, Dr. Slump, Attack No. 1 and Honey Honey no Suteki na Boken (no relation to Cutie Honey). The TV series also aired in France under the title "Cherry Miel" ("Cherry Honey") and was, surprisingly, more or less uncut except for a new French theme song replacing the original song by Yoko Maekawa.
There was a manga adaptation of this anime by Ken Ishikawa.
